Aaj News, Pakistani news channel, was launched in 2005 and owned by Business Recorder Group, one of the most important media company in Pakistan. Aaj is an Urdu word which means ‘Today’. The Urdu news channel operates under the supervision of Director Aamer Ahmed Khan.
Aaj News was initially launched on 23rd March 2005 by Business Recorder Group as the first TV network having an earth station in Pakistan. Aaj News is probably the first and only channel of Pakistan that offers separate sections for programming and business news alongside its hourly bulletins.
Business Recorder launched the channel to spread out information via easy medium. Within two years, the channel gained massive response ahead of planned content and technology. The channel was converted into 24-hour news channel on 23 March 2009.
The channel once got trapped in an issue after the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) sent a show-case notice to the channel on 22 April 2007 for reporting and talk shows on the then judicial crisis.
The channel, having the only digital station, has broadcast access to the Asia Sat satellite in over 60 countries and has agreements with over 100 countries. The channel offers news in both English and Urdu language.

The slogan of Aaj News is “Pakistan Ki Awaz” (Voice of Pakistan), and aims to provide accurate news coverage.
